About
"Philosophizing through Greek Myths" is a 6-module seminar aimed at anyone curious about Greek mythology and eager to embark on a personal odyssey into self-knowledge. Socrates himself claimed the study of Greek myths for his philosophical teaching: "know yourself and you will know the universe and the gods." This course is designed to help us better understand ourselves based on the treasure of Greek myths, which reveal to us the in-depth knowledge of the human psyche that the ancient Greeks had, and in particular that of their individual and collective wanderings. With the 6 modules, this is approximately 24 hours of lessons, alternating explanatory videos on the myths studied and their teachings, and live online workshops for discussions and questions (replay possible). Each module can be booked separately. In the event of technical difficulties for the module's online workshop, or in the event of force majeure, the workshop will be postponed to a later date. It is recorded for rebroadcast to participants who could not attend. This module 6 is devoted to the myths of Ulysses, Orpheus, metempsychosis, and human destiny. This seminar "Philosophizing through Greek myths" is given by Ariane Bilheran, a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (Ulm), psychologist, philosopher, and doctor in psychopathology. With a multidisciplinary background (Latin-Greek, philosophy, psychopathology), Ariane Bilheran has been passionate about Greek mythology since she was little. She wrote her first book at the age of 10, a "Mythological Dictionary of Extracts from Homer's Odyssey", which ended up in the college library! After giving various lectures on certain myths related to psychology, she published in 2023 "Vaincre ses monstres intérieurs" (Leduc ed.), a book devoted to the monsters of Greek mythology and the lessons that A. Bilheran draws from them for readers.
