Introduction
It is now common to mention the relational dimension at work in psychosocial risks, and its importance. Human and social relations in the company have a considerable influence on the working atmosphere, but are also influenced by a given organization and management methods.
Without neglecting factors related to work situations, working conditions, working methods and the environment, but also organizational factors, this article would like to examine psychosocial risks from the more specific angle of management and authority problems in the company.
Magazines, training courses, and coaching workshops are currently full of advice on how to "manage well". From authoritarian management to participative management, from training in team management, team conflicts, performance, from leadership coaches to knowledge management... in short, the literature on the subject is so prolific that defining the function of management seems child's play.
And yet… it’s not that simple.
